Logo and branding

A brand image that's clear, consistent and current.

I draw your logo and build everything around it: colours, typefaces, business cards, stationery, signage and social templates. So your business shows the same face everywhere, from your website to your delivery truck.

What a brand image includes

What is a brand identity, in practical terms?

It's your logo, plus the rules that let you use it the same way everywhere: colours, typefaces, variations and templates. Without those rules, every new document drifts a little further from the last.

The logo

Drawn as vector art in Illustrator, designed to work everywhere: on a phone screen, embroidered on a shirt, printed on a sign or shrunk down to a website icon.

  • Primary version plus horizontal or stacked
  • Full colour, one colour, black and white, reversed on dark
  • Symbol on its own and a website icon (favicon)
  • AI, SVG, PDF and PNG files, for print and web

Brand guidelines

Colour palette (CMYK, RGB, hex), typefaces, clear space, do's and don'ts, in a short guide your team and suppliers can follow.

A brand applied everywhere

Business cards, letterhead, email signature, quotes, website: the brand follows its rules everywhere. For Savage Trailers, I designed the new brand, then the website that puts it to work.

Signage

Storefront sign, vehicle lettering, trade-show booth, banner: files at the right scale for your fabricator.

Social media templates

Ready-to-fill posts, banners and presentations, so your team can publish without diluting the brand.

Brochures and leaflets

Logos and AI

Can you create your logo with AI?

For exploring ideas, yes. But I don't recommend using a generated logo as is: its copyright protection is uncertain, it may resemble an existing trademark, and it rarely works as vector art, in one colour or at small sizes.

My method: AI speeds up exploration, then I draw and finish the logo by hand in Illustrator. I document the tools used and recommend a search of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office trademarks database; to register a trademark, a trademark agent is the right person.

In the United States, the Copyright Office concluded in January 2025 that a prompt alone isn't enough for copyright. In Canada, the question is before the courts.

What AI does well

  • Explore dozens of directions
  • Try out moods and palettes
  • Show the logo in context (mock-ups)

What stays human

  • Choosing the direction and the meaning
  • Vector drawing and typography
  • Legibility at small sizes and in one colour

How it works

How does logo design work?

Six steps, with you at every decision point.

  1. 01

    Discovery

Your story, your customers, your competitors, the feeling you want to convey. And where the logo will live: web, print, vehicles, clothing.

  2. 02

    Exploration

Sketches and directions explored with AI. I present a few solid options, not a random pile of images.

  3. 03

    Drawing

The chosen direction is drawn as vector art in Illustrator: proportions, typography, balance.

  4. 04

    Refinements

Your feedback, my adjustments. We test the logo small, in one colour and in context.

  5. 05

    Variations and guidelines

Versions, palette, typefaces and usage guide, then cards and templates.

  6. 06

    Delivery

Every file, clearly named and organized, for you, your printer and your web developer.

Refreshing a logo without losing recognition

Is your logo twenty years old and still recognized by your customers? A refresh keeps what makes it yours (a shape, a colour, a symbol) and fixes what has aged: the typeface, details that vanish at small sizes, gradients that print poorly.

It's often the best choice for an established business: less risky than a complete rebrand, and a chance to tidy up all your documents.

The starter kit

For a new business or an SMB that wants a clean image without an agency budget:

  • AI-accelerated exploration, several directions compared
  • Logo drawn and finished by hand, in several versions
  • Palette, typefaces and a short usage guide
  • Templates: social media, presentation, email signature
  • Optional: custom prompts so your team can produce on-brand visuals

Common questions

Logo and branding: your questions.

AI FAQ for SMBs
Which files will I receive?

The Illustrator source file (AI), vector files (SVG, PDF) for your printer and web developer, and transparent PNGs for everyday use. Each version (colour, one colour, black, white) is delivered separately and clearly named.

Will my logo be protected?

A logo drawn by a person is in a much better position than an image generated as is. Before adopting it, I recommend a search of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office trademarks database; to register your trademark, a trademark agent can guide you. I'm not a lawyer.

Can you update my current logo instead of creating a new one?

Yes, and it's often the best choice for an established business. We keep what your customers recognize and fix what has aged. I'll tell you honestly if a simple refresh is enough.

Can you also redo my website with the new image?

Yes. Since I also do web development, the new image can roll out on your website, print and social media at the same time, with one person to deal with.
